President’s Message

President’s Message – October 2024

Dear Colleagues,

I am thrilled to announce the registration opening for the 2025 ACBSP Sports Sciences
Symposium! With hard work from the national office, symposium chairs, and the board of
directors, this year’s event promises to be one of our most dynamic and engaging events yet.
We invite all certificates of the ACBSP, chiropractic physicians, exercise physiologists, athletic
trainers, and students to join us for this opportunity to enhance your skills, expand your network,
and stay at the forefront of sports medicine.

Why You Should Attend

Attending the ACBSP Symposium is more than just earning continuing education credits—it’s
about being part of a movement that drives our profession forward. As sports chiropractors, we
are uniquely positioned to impact the lives and performance of athletes across the globe. The
symposium offers a rare chance to learn from the best, exchange ideas with like-minded
professionals, and contribute to the advancement of our field. My challenge to all our
certificates is this – Show up and make it matter.

The only way we can create more exciting events in the future is for you to be there, even if it’s
just sitting in the sessions and learning from our colleagues. I will challenge you to go one step
further and have discussions with fellow attendees, engage with our vendors, and give your
input to the board of directors, because we are here to make those letters behind your name
mean something.

Exciting Speaker Lineup

We are delighted to bring together a world-class lineup of speakers who are leading the charge
in sports chiropractic, sports science, performance care, and injury prevention. These esteemed
professionals will share their insights, latest research findings, and practical approaches to
addressing the needs of athletes of all levels. Topics this year will include advanced techniques
in rotational athletes, nutrition interventions and lab biomarkers for athletes, rehabilitation
strategies, and much more. Full topics and speaker bios can be found here.

Registration

With the theme of “Making it Matter”, we also want you to feel valued as an attendee, so we will
be offering a deep discount for registration over the next few weeks. I especially want to
highlight registration for the Principle and Practices Workshop (PPW) + the full symposium for
only $350! That is 4 days of learning and hands-on practice for over half the price if you wait!
Make sure you register quickly as this price will not last long, but also share this with your
friends and colleagues to encourage them to register as well.

Don’t miss out on this exceptional educational and networking experience. Register today
here
, and I look forward to seeing all of you in Greenville in March!

President’s Message – August 2024

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

I hope you all enjoyed watching the 2024 Paris Olympics as much as I did and seeing Team USA podium for a record amount since 1984!  I know many of you either worked with these athletes directly at the games or during training leading to this summer, and all that effort really paid off.  I am also anxiously awaiting the Paralympic Games starting on August 28th, I greatly encourage everyone to tune in to these amazing athletes giving their all.

First, a quick note about our upcoming exams: The written exams for the CCSP® and the DACBSP® are scheduled for November 2nd, 2024. This is an important milestone for those of you working toward certification and to ensure everything goes smoothly, please remember that all exam-related documents must be submitted by September 30th, 2024. Meeting this deadline is crucial to allow us to prepare adequately and provide a seamless examination process.

Although the board has decided to not hold a practical exam this fall, I encourage you to use this time to focus on the written component, ensuring your knowledge is up-to-date and ready for the test.  If needed, we will grant extension to the 3-year time frame for completion of the practical exam.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are also deep into preparations for the 2025 Sports Sciences Symposium. This event is a fantastic opportunity for learning, networking, and growth within our community. If you know of any vendors interested in showcasing their products and services at the symposium, or any products and vendors that you love to use in your clinics, please send them to the National Office at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued dedication to excellence in sports chiropractic. Your commitment to advancing your expertise and serving athletes at all levels is what makes our community truly outstanding!
