The theme for this symposium is "Updates" with the objective of providing cutting-edge material in key topics of our profession. Many specialties have conferences that present material that is so current and relevant that the symposia and conferences are "must attend" events.  In these instances, if you do not attend these events, you are not in the know. Our goal is to progress our symposium to this status and provide sports medicine chiropractors a high level of valuable, quality, current, and contextualized material annually. Our speakers will present new information that has been published within the last year. The theme of update has also influenced the format of the symposium itself.

Up to 28 CEUs available for CCSP® and DACBSP® certificants. State re-licensure, NSCA, and NATA CEUs will be applied for.

Joseph Horrigan, DC, DACBSP®, 2015 ACBSP Symposium Chairperson, has arranged for thirteen new and elite speakers to present the latest information and knowledge in their specific discipline to our attendees. These presenters include:

  • Derek Dee, MD

  • Sean Flanagan, PhD, ATC, CSCS

  • Chris Giza, MD

  • Melissa Kimura, DC, LAc, CCSP®

  • C. Ronald Koons, MD, FACP

This year's symposium also offers a new networking and social experience exclusively for students. SCU is sponsoring a Student Reception open to all students registered for the symposium. The reception will be held on Friday evening and will offer a casual environment with food and drinks to network with peers and some of the leaders in chiropractic sports medicine. Come and have an opportunity to ask your questions of those with a wealth of experience to share.

Although the symposium format has been updated you will also find several of the tried and true, high-quality presenters that many have come to count on over the years. These presenters include:

  • Doug Andersen, DC, DACBSP®, CCN

  • Tim Brown, DC

  • Bart Green, DC, DACBSP®, Editor JCE

  • Claire Johnson, DC, DACBSP®,  Editor JMPT, JCM, and JCH

  • And Justin Grasmeyer, DC, DACBSP® as abstract coordinator/moderator

And, back by popular demand, a CPR recertification course will be offered on Friday morning. The CPR course requires an additional registration fee. Please be sure to select it on the online registration form.

As always, active ACBSP™ certificants receive a discounted registration rate for the symposium. If you are unsure about the status of your certification or need assistance getting up to date, please contact the ACBSP national office to inquire.

This year's symposium will also offer space for up to 32 exhibitor booths and we are working to bring some new vendors offering innovative products and services to the event.
